Need a Snake or Reptile Removed?
Don’t take unnecessary chances with an animal you cannot identify. Contact Scaled Encounters for professional snake and reptile identification and removal.

Venomous snake response is one of our primary services.
We provide professional identification, capture, and removal of Virginia’s native venomous snakes, including Eastern Copperheads, Timber Rattlesnakes, and Northern Cottonmouths.
If you encounter a known or suspected venomous snake, keep a safe distance, bring children and pets indoors, and do not attempt to capture or kill the animal.
Not sure what species you’re looking at? Contact us. We can help identify the snake and determine the appropriate response.

Not every snake needs to be removed.
If you find a snake or reptile and aren’t sure what it is, send us a clear photograph taken from a safe distance.
We can help identify the animal and determine whether removal is appropriate.
Never approach or handle an unidentified snake to obtain a photograph.

Reptiles are an important part of Virginia’s ecosystems, and our goal is to resolve conflicts without treating wildlife as the enemy.
When appropriate and consistent with applicable wildlife regulations, animals are handled and relocated responsibly rather than unnecessarily harmed.
We can also help explain why the animal may have appeared around your property and provide practical recommendations for reducing future encounters.
