Our Mission
At Scaled Encounters, our mission is simple:
To turn fear into fascination through education, experience, and responsible reptile removal. With more than 20 years of experience working with snakes and reptiles, Scaled Encounters was built around a deep respect for animals that are often feared or misunderstood. We believe understanding creates respect, and that knowledge can replace fear with confidence.
Our educational programs bring people face-to-face with incredible reptiles through safe, engaging, hands-on experiences. Whether we’re visiting a classroom, library, summer camp, homeschool group, or community event, our goal is to encourage curiosity, break down common myths and misconceptions, and help people better understand the important role reptiles play in the natural world.
That same philosophy extends beyond our educational programs and into the community through professional snake and reptile removal services. When a snake or other reptile appears around a home, business, or property, fear is often the first reaction. Our goal is to provide a safe, knowledgeable response while treating the animal with respect.
Rather than simply removing an unwanted animal, we use these encounters as opportunities to help property owners understand what they found, why it may be there, and how people and wildlife can safely coexist. Everything we do is guided by four principles:
